George W Bush Raised Debt Ceiling Seven Times
All but two presidents since 1939 have raised the national debt ceiling multiple times, according to Politifact.com. However, when President Clinton did it, George W Bush did not oppose it, at least publicly. (Why would a state governor do that anyway, right, unless he planned to run for president sometime in the future). However in Obama's case, he voted 'no' while in congress on raising the debt ceiling in 2006, while George W Bush was in office, in order to make a public, political point. Now we've come full circle and Obama needs the money. It appears Obama didn't properly planificate he might need to ask congress for a trillion or so dollars in the future.

Will The US Default On $14.5 Trillion Debt?
The US Federal Budget Deficit is nearly $1.4 trillion and climbing. The US Debt Clock lays out the numbers. The debt ceiling aside for a moment, if your were President Obama or Speaker Boehner, what would you cut to balance the budget? How would George W Bush do it? How about the $212 billion in interest payments for starters? The United States' largest creditor is China. Is is wise to owe the Chinese government over $585 billion? Why should America have to borrow money from any foreign government?

George W Bush and The National Debt
According to Jeffrey H. Anderson, former professor of American government and political philosophy at the U.S. Air Force Academy, President Obama is outdoing president George W Bush in deficit spending. The $410 billion per year ran up by Bush dwarfs in comparison to Obama's 1.413 billion per year. What does the federal government need that extra $1 trillion per year for? What could you do with $1 trillion bucks?
